Naked man found in hotel lobby

A man from Buford recently raised questions about inadequate security when he waltzed into a hotel lobby wearing nothing but his underwear. The man's intentions were unclear, but police officers took him into custody.

A hotel clerk called in the report to the local police station. The police report indicated that the clerk heard a knock on the front door of the hotel at approximately 3:15 a.m. Although no one was at the door when the clerk checked, she later observed motion on the hotel's security camera that showed a man trying to climb over the counter at the front desk. The clerk approached the man who said that he was a hotel guest who had lost his key. However, he then admitted that he had not been truthful and requested to take a shower. The clerk refused and then called the police.

Police arrived shortly later and found the man wearing only his underwear. The man was unable to tell authorities how he arrived at the hotel. However, he then told authorities that he remembered getting undressed and setting his clothes on fire. The man also became irate for no apparent reason on several occasions during questioning. He was later released on bond.

Although no one was injured due to the man's presence, when a person is injured while on another person's property as a result of inadequate security, he or she may be able to file a claim for premises liability. An attorney can help conduct an investigation into the accident to determine liability and to establish a claim for the victim's injuries and damages.
