CIVIL JUSTICE FOR CRIME VICTIM SEMINAR

Atlanta Victim’s Rights and Premises Liability lawyer Melvin L. Hewitt, Jr., recently hosted a 3rd Civil Justice for Crime Victim Seminar for Victim Advocates, law enforcement officers working with victims, government and private attorneys.  The seminar was held at Georgia State University and provided an in-depth look at the civil justice system and the rights and remedies available to crime victims through the civil justice system.  Mr. Hewitt and Jeff Dion presented the full day seminar.  Mr. Dion, a civil rights lawyer himself whose sister was killed at an apartment complex in Sandy Springs, Georgia in 1982, has championed crime victims’ rights for more than two decades and serves as the Director of the National Crime Victim Bar Association as part of the staff of the National Center for Victims of Crime in Washington, D.C.  Mr. Hewitt is an Atlanta-based premises liability attorney who has represented crime victims in Georgia and across the United States.
