MRSA infections may affect Altanta Hawks players

When the Washington Redskins discovered that a strain of MRSA was lurking in its locker room, the team's owner advised the trainer to remodel the locker room at any cost. The renovation of the Redskins' locker room cost $80,000, but the owner believes it was worth the investment. MSRA is a type of infection that can be deadly, and it has a tendency to be spread through locker rooms and other close quarters.

Inflatable slide collapses at Georgia school, injures students

Authorities in Troup County are continuing to investigate what may have caused an inflatable slide to collapse and injure 19 students in an accident on Oct. 18. Officials from Rosemont Elementary School said that the students were fifth graders taking part in an Accelerated Reader Celebration in the school's gym when the slide collapsed with several students on it.

Woman in hospital goes missing, found dead in stairwell

When Georgia patients are admitted to hospitals, they expect that their condition will improve. However, a woman in another state did not have the same experience. Just as she was recovering from a condition, she went missing. Hospital staff found her body in a stairwell weeks later.

Amusement park claims no responsibility for death

Anyone in Georgia who visits amusement parks might be interested in a lawsuit over a death on a roller coaster. The family of a 52-year-old woman killed after falling from a roller coaster at an amusement park has sued for over $1 million. However, the amusement park denied that it was liable for a woman's death. It claimed that its roller coaster was not a dangerous property.

Georgia Power cited in explosion, faces fines

Georgia Power has been charged and fined as a result of an April 2013 generator explosion at their Plant Bowen near Cartersville. The plant was shut down for maintenance when the explosion occurred. The plant employees 300 people, none of whom were injured in the April accident.
