The law offices of Isenberg & Hewitt were established in 1985 by Harriet C. Isenberg and Melvin L. Hewitt, Jr.  Ms. Isenberg established herself in the business community as the principal of her own real estate investment company and later in the management of local and regional operations for national, publically-held corporations.  Mr. Hewitt, after serving in the military, spent six years in public law enforcement and later began a 17-year career in the private security industry.  He brought considerable corporate and business experience to the firm having served as the vice-president of operations, general counsel and ultimately president of one of the largest, publically-traded, private security companies in the world having over 13,000 employees and over 100 offices throughout the United States and Europe.

Isenberg & Hewitt attracted a solid commercial client base particularly catering to the needs of all types of businesses and vendors serving the multi-family and building industries.  Today, Ms. Isenberg is one of Atlanta’s best known and notable lawyers in the area of creditor’s rights and commercial litigation.

Mr. Hewitt was increasingly drawn back to his law enforcement and private security heritage.  In the early 90's, many of the business owners and entrepreneurs served by Isenberg & Hewitt came to the firm in need of individual representation for themselves and their loved ones who had been seriously injured or had been the victim of serious crime.  Mr. Hewitt developed a staff that now represents increasing numbers of victims of violent crimes such as rape, sexual assault or battery and of families of murder victims, child molestation victims other victims of violent crime.  Our Victim Services group has also represented victims of vicious animal attacks and victims of drunk drivers in cases against not only the driver, but the irresponsible innkeeper who served them.
